Baldwin City Community Theater began in 1991 offering acting opportunities to children and adults of all ages. Several productions are staged each year. They are making plans for the 2009 summer musical, ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’. Past productions have included Annie, Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma, Nunsense, Steel Magnolias, Show Boat and Grease, and the Wizard of Oz. In addition, the theater runs a haunted train, Terror Tracks, in October and will sometimes offer a murder mystery trains in September, events done in conjunction with the Midland Railway.

Community theatre is a true community event.  Actors, parents of child actors, volunteers and donations from the community are what make this special and successful.  There is no production fee to be a part of a cast.  We are always in need of help for ticket sales, backstage, props, programs and publicity.  If you are interested in theatre and theatre production please join us!  Our meetings are the first Monday of the month (unless a holiday) at the theatre office, 816 High, and everyone is welcome.

The Baldwin City Recreation Commission offers activities for youths, adults and seniors in the community throughout the year.
