Q: What is the mission statement for the Baldwin City Chamber of Commerce?
A: “The object of this organization shall be to promote the civic, commercial, industrial and agricultural interests in Baldwin City and to aid in the development of all legitimate enterprises which will tend to increase their prospects.”

Q: How can I become a member of the Baldwin City Chamber of Commerce?
A: We have an online application under the “Our Members” section under application. You can also visit our office located at 720 High Street to pick up an application or we can email one to you.

Q: How can membership in the chamber benefit my business?
A: There are a variety of reasons to join the Chamber of Commerce. They include internet visibility, links to business resources, gaining access to community leaders, establishing local identity, increasing revenue, business credibility, economic development, ribbon cutting ceremonies for new businesses, community outreach, networking opportunities, access to a monthly newsletter, and the member to member discount program.

Q: How can I become more involved in the Chamber?
A: The chamber has several committees including: membership, public relations, social, scholarship, and the CVB. The CVB stands for Convention & Visitors Bureau. The CVB holds a monthly meeting of individuals that organize local events and promote our community to visitors.

Q: Are there non-profit organizations I can join?
A: We have a variety: Baldwin City BPW (Business & Professional Women), Baldwin City Community Theater, Baldwin Community Arts Council, Black Jack Battlefield Trust, Inc., Friends of the Baldwin Library, Lumberyard Arts Center, Inc., Midland Railway Historical Association, Santa Fe Trail Historical Society, Maple Leaf Festival Committee, Baldwin Education Foundation, and Baldwin City Lions Club.

Q: Do you have regular membership meetings?
A: We have membership luncheons on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at noon at The Lodge. Reservations are not required but groups are encouraged to contact the chamber office to insure an adequate number of meals will be provided. There is a $6 meal charge.

We also have networking breakfasts on the 4th Friday of each month at 7:30 am in the dining room at Harter Union at Baker University.

Q: How is the chamber organized?
A: We have a board of directors and an office manager. View the Board of Directors.
