Bradley Peterson

Family: Daughter Ali (15 years old), Son Blake (12 years old)

Education: Bachelor of Science from Northwest Missouri State University and Masters of Arts in Organization Leadership from Baker

Career: Claims adjuster for the last 17 years

Educational Experience: No education experience

Community Service: Member of Church Council for Methodist Church in Baldwin, Volunteer with Baldwin City Recreation Commission through community events,  Coach soccer, baseball, and softball for my children through Baldwin Rec

What is your motivation for running for office? I believe I would be a good candidate as I can look at both sides of an issue and come to a very thoughtful decision as why I believe in that cause.   I have lived here for 16 years and genuinely want to see this community thrive. 

What is one major issue Baldwin City USD #348 is facing currently and how would you address it? The other candidates have touched on it as well but I believe school safety is at the top of my list.   Addressing it would be first identifying the challenges the school is facing and work with them to find solutions.  

What is your vision for Baldwin City USD #348 5-10 years in the future? I see this community growing and with that comes challenges.   It seems like we are already becoming tight on available facilities for both athletics and education.   My vision is that we thoughtfully look at ways to improve the facilities in the short term but also look at long term solutions.  

What personal characteristics and/or abilities do you have that qualify you for election to the School Board? I have been a leader with my company and know that tough decisions need to be made and I am comfortable making those decisions even if it doesn't always align other community members/school board members.  I also work well in a team and value everyone's opinion.
