What is your motivation for running for office? It takes a while to grasp how being involved with government works. I have learned a lot in the last four years and feel I still have some contributions to help Baldwin City in moving forward.
What is one major issue Baldwin City is facing currently and how would you address it? Repairing the brick streets is a major concern. Thanks to the citizens of Baldwin City for voting to increase the sales tax to eventually help pay for them. Also, the sidewalks downtown are in need of major repair. I will be trying to help bring this repair to fruition in my next 4 year term.
What is your vision for Baldwin City 5-10 years in the future? A stand alone medical facility that also has an urgent care component.
A recreation center that is large enough for all citizens to enjoy with a walking track, pickle ball courts and possibly an indoor/outdoor swimming pool to mention a few possibilities.
What personal characteristics and/or abilities do you have that qualify you for election to the City Council? Experience being on council for four years. I try to put Baldwin City first and think things through before coming to a decision. Also, I think it helps to have a woman’s perspective on issues and to have the ability to know what it is like to be a senior citizen in Baldwin City.
