Join the Heritage Conservation Council at the 2022 Preservation Conference in Baldwin City on June 24th and 25th. Experience the trails, tales, and structures that make the stories of Douglas County heritage. On Friday the 24th, we're hitting the road to visit local landmarks! Site tours include a segment of the Santa Fe Trail, touring the Prairie City Cemetery to learn about cemetery preservation, and visiting Black Jack Battlefield & Nature Park where we'll learn about the historic site and their in-progress prairie restoration project. Then we'll all gather at the Lumberyard Arts Center to enjoy delicious snacks from The Whole Nine Yards and beverages from Baldwin City Beer Company. During the lunch hour on Friday and Saturday, grab takeaway from one of the restaurants in Baldwin City's historic downtown district and eat with your peers at the Lumberyard Arts Center, the Baldwin City Chamber of Commerce, or in Sullivan Square!
