After extensive repair of the structure, The Coal Creek Library is once again open! It is the oldest library in Kansas - established in 1859 for the moral, social, and intellectual improvement of its members. The books were housed in homes and the Grange until this building was built in 1900. The plans are to be open every Sunday 1 to 4 p.m. through September. The library is a true time capsule and one of several historic sites around Vinland.
