The Douglas County Chapter Invites You to our Winter Meeting and Presentation – “The Civil War in Kansas”

Many historians consider the first battle of the Civil War to be the Battle of Black Jack, which occurred just 3 miles east of Baldwin City. Most of the battle occurred in the ruts of the Santa Fe Trail which are easily accessible at the Black Jack Park and Walking Trail out on the Ivan Boyd Memorial Prairie. See Full Program
