What inspired the founding of Rodrock Chiropractic? How has the 20+ year journey been?

I have always felt a purpose and a passion for helping others and was drawn to the field of chiropractic and natural health care because of its transformative potential. My mother worked for a chiropractor, and from a young age I saw firsthand how chiropractic restored balance and improved lives without relying on invasive surgeries or long-term medications. This vision sparked my journey into chiropractic care, driven by a desire to empower individuals to reclaim their health. Over the past 23 years, the journey has been deeply rewarding. I feel extremely blessed to have found Baldwin City. Each patient’s story fuels my commitment to provide care that not only alleviates pain but also educates and inspires lasting change. I am always looking for new and innovative ways to help people achieve their health goals.

What core values guide RC?

The core values of our practice are impact, leadership, connection, and accomplishment.  We strive to have a positive impact on our patients and our community. We want to lead and empower our patients and community on positivity, good health, and the latest research. We have a strong desire to really connect with our patients, so we build trust with them. Then we have a profound understanding, as well as their challenges regarding their health goals. Lastly, we want to encourage and empower our patients to take charge of their well-being and accomplish the healthiest life possible.

How does RC stand out from other chiropractic practices?

Our practice stands out by offering a comprehensive, holistic approach to healing that integrates advanced techniques, therapies, and natural health solutions tailored to each patient’s unique needs. At the heart of our approach is the RESTORE framework, which focuses on uncovering and addressing the root causes of pain and dysfunction rather than just managing symptoms. This framework combines cutting-edge therapies, nutritional guidance, and education to promote sustainable, long-term health. Among the unique services we provide are manual and gentle chiropractic adjustments, red light therapy to reduce inflammation and accelerate tissue healing, SoftWave therapy, an advanced, non-invasive regenerative treatment that stimulates the body’s natural healing processes, reduces pain, and enhances tissue repair by stimulating stem cell recruitment to injured areas. We are soon adding decompression therapy to alleviate disc-related issues by reducing spinal pressure. We also offer high-quality, targeted supplements to ensure patients receive the foundational support needed for optimal recovery and vitality.

What is RC’s philosophy on treatment and wellness?

Our approach to patient care is centered on getting to the root cause of health issues and addressing them through our RESTORE healing framework. The body has an incredible capacity to heal itself when given the right tools and support. By identifying and addressing underlying causes rather than masking symptoms, I help patients achieve lasting relief and long-term health. Our philosophy is simple: empower patients with the knowledge, treatments, and personalized care they need to not only recover but to thrive.

Which conditions do you often see, and how are they treated?

They include neuropathy, low back pain, disc herniations, sciatica, and chronic pain caused by inflammation or injuries. These issues often arise from underlying dysfunctions that disrupt the body’s natural healing processes. My focus is on identifying these root causes and creating personalized treatment plans that address them directly. Using the RESTORE healing framework, we address the root causes of these conditions, and help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, and regain their quality of life – all without relying on invasive procedures or unnecessary medications.

How has chiropractic care evolved over time?

It has evolved significantly, blending traditional hands-on techniques with innovative therapies and a broader focus on holistic wellness. While the foundation of chiropractic care—restoring alignment and improving nervous system function—has remained the same, advancements in technology and research have expanded the ways we can support healing and overall health.  There’s a growing emphasis on integrative approaches, combining chiropractic care with nutritional support, lifestyle modifications, and patient education to achieve long-term wellness. It’s also gained greater recognition as a vital part of healthcare, with more people seeking natural, non-invasive solutions to manage pain, avoid surgeries, and improve their quality of life.

How does RC engage with the community outside of the office?

One of the key ways I engage with the community is through the Baldwin City Health Fair. We also participate in a Back-to-School event for employees of USD 348 offering giveaways and educational material on health.  We sponsor local 5Ks and community events, emphasizing the importance of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. Social media is another key way we engage with our community, providing a unique way to connect that was not available when I first opened up my practice.

Is there a memorable success that highlights RC’s impact?

A patient came to me with severe essential tremors. She was losing the ability to perform many daily tasks that most of us take for granted. One of the most heartbreaking challenges she faced was the inability to feed herself, a loss that significantly affected her independence and confidence.

During her exam, we discovered a combination of nervous system dysfunction, chronic inflammation, and muscular imbalance. After a few weeks of care, she began improving and regained her ability to feed herself unassisted.

The ripple effect of her success was amazing. Our practice is 90% referrals from patients and community members. Not only did she regain her quality of life, but her story inspired hope for others in similar situations.

What advice would you give to someone considering chiropractic care for the first time?

Approach it with an open mind and a focus on finding a provider who takes a personalized, holistic approach to your health. Chiropractic care isn’t just about treating back pain—it’s about improving the function of your entire body by addressing the root causes of discomfort or dysfunction, not just the symptoms.

What are RC’s goals for the coming years?

My primary goal is expanding my practice’s ability to deliver cutting-edge, holistic care that targets the root causes of pain and dysfunction. I aim to reach and help more individuals struggling with chronic conditions such as neuropathy, low back pain, and discopathy, empowering them to reclaim their quality of life through natural, non-invasive solutions. Additionally, I plan to enhance our services by bringing on an interventional pain management doctor to offer regenerative treatment options, providing patients with even more comprehensive and innovative care.

Anything else you would like to add?

I feel truly blessed to be part of such an amazing community like Baldwin City. The kindness, support, and sense of connection here are unparalleled, and it’s an honor to serve and care for the wonderful people who make this community so special. Whether it’s through providing care, participating in local events, or simply connecting with neighbors, I am constantly reminded of how fortunate I am to be surrounded by such a caring and close-knit community.
